The specific purposes of the CASDA organization are:
To furnish highly trained volunteer teams of dogs and dog handlers for search and rescue efforts for the benefit and welfare of the community.
To organize and support the continuing education and training of dog handlers, dogs, and support personnel in search and rescue methods.
To increase public awareness of trained search and rescue dogs by providing informational and educational programs and demonstrations to institutions, agencies and community organizations.
Central Alabama Search Dog Association
(CASDA) is an all volunteer non-profit group providing canine search dogs and trailing dogs to assist law enforcement and emergency management agencies in finding missing individuals.
In 2001 CASDA was formed by dog handlers with over 20 years of experience training SAR dogs. Our goal was to train to the highest standards and share our knowledge and experience with other dog handlers.
